Hello Photographers,
As we discussed, your challenge over December is to take lots and lots of winter-themed photos. Winter means holidays, winter weather, snow and ice, lights, food, recreation: anything related to the winter season
Then you will look at all of your photos, and select three of them to tell a winter story.
- Photo 1: The Establishing Shot. This photo serves to “set the stage,” and give viewers a sense of place, surroundings, mood. Think of this image as an overview entry in to your story.
- Photo 2: The Relationship. This image show interaction, transaction, connection, an activity that communicates the essence of your story.
- Photo 3: The Details. This can be an image that shows a detail of the story, something you might not see from your Establishing Shot. It serves to tell more about the story, and put the viewer closer in touch with your story. It might even provide explantation to the story.
- Story Title: Give your 3-Picture Winter Story a title
Note: Your 3-photo story doesn’t necessarily have to have your three images presented in this order. Often Photos 2 and 3 are presented as 1,3,2.
Once you’ve selected your three photos, you can arrange them together in a story, or you can send all three to me, and let me know the order you want them presented. We’ll then look at your stories together in a slideshow.
Email your story/photos to elementl@bresnan.net, and include your name and story title. Make sure to include 3-Picture Story in the subject line of your email so I know what it’s for!
